Etienne Brie Cheese
Paper Packaging Project
For this project we were asked to create a package made out of paperboard. I’ve got 5 years in Deli experience, so I took inspiration from work. Brie cheese tends to be packaged in plastic and placed into a paper or thin wood box to help it keep its shape. It’s also a soft creamy cheese that’s often marketed for charcuterie boards and parties. Another understated element of cheese sales is the idea that a type of cheese is considered better or worse depending on where it’s made (domestic or imported) and the ingredients included. Brie was created in Meaux, France so I created a French name for the brand that means “Crown”. Along with the royalty inspired colors of red and gold, this cements the brand as a cheese above the rest of the market’s quality.
Below are some cleaned up thumbnails from the end of the ideation phase of my process, and the layout that I measured and created specifically for this project.
